Oxynorm (Oxycodone) 10mg capsule
Use the smallest effective dose for the shortest time possible while keeping unique patient treatment goals in mind. (2.1) Adjust dosing according to pain severity, patient response, prior analgesic experience, and risk factors for addiction, abuse, and misuse. (2.1)
When commencing or renewing therapy with Oxycodone Hydrochloride Capsules, discuss the availability of naloxone with the patient and caregiver, and assess each patient’s need for access to naloxone. Consider prescription naloxone in light of the patient’s overdose risk factors (2.2, 5.1, 5.3, 5.6).
Start with 5 to 15 mg every 4 to 6 hours as needed for pain. (2.3) To achieve appropriate analgesia, take Oxycodone Hydrochloride capsules at a regular frequency.

Take this medication only as prescribed by your doctor. Take no more of it, no more frequently, and no longer than your doctor has prescribed. This is especially significant for senior people, who may be more susceptible to the effects of pain relievers. If this medication is taken in excess for an extended period, it may become habit-forming (creating mental or physical reliance).
You must understand the rules of the Opioid Analgesic REMS program to prevent oxycodone addiction, abuse, and overuse. This medication should also be accompanied by a medication Guide and a patient information leaflet. Read and follow these directions carefully. Read it again every time you refill your prescription.
