Description
Nobese (Sibutramine) 10mg capsule
Norepinephrine, serotonin, and dopamine reuptake inhibition are how Nobese works to treat patients. Nobese’s pharmacological activities are primarily mediated by its secondary (M1) and primary (M2) amine metabolites. In vivo, the parent chemical nobese is a strong inhibitor of serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake. However, the metabolites M1 and M2 limit neurotransmitter reuptake both in vivo and in vitro.
Nobese is an orally given medication for obesity. Nobese’s pharmacological activities are primarily mediated by its secondary (M1) and primary (M2) amine metabolites. Sibutramine, the parent molecule, inhibits serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake in vivo but not in vitro. However, the metabolites M1 and M2 limit neurotransmitter reuptake both in vitro and in vivo. Human brain tissue contains
Nobese (Sibutramine) 10mg capsule
The starting dose is 10 milligrams per day. If this dose is ineffective (weight reduction of less than 2 kg in 4 weeks), the dose can be increased to 15 mg/day if tolerated.
If Nobese doses of 15 mg/day produce no effect (weight reduction of less than 2 kg per 4 weeks), the medicine should be discontinued.
The length of use of this medication should not exceed 3 months in individuals who are not sufficiently responding to treatment, that is, who do not achieve a 5% weight loss from baseline within 3 months.
Because there is no data on the efficacy and safety of extended use, the duration of treatment is limited to one year.
If made afterward, do not use sibutramine.
