BACLOFEN (BAK loe fen) is used to treat muscle spasms. It decreases muscle stiffness by relaxing your muscles. It belongs to a class of drugs known as muscle relaxants.
This medication may be used for additional purposes; see your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions.
How should I use this medication?
Take this drug orally. Follow the directions on the medicine label. Continue taking it until your care team tells you to stop. Stopping it too soon can have catastrophic consequences. It may potentially aggravate your illness.
Discuss the usage of this drug in children with your healthcare team. While it can be prescribed for children as young as 12 years old for some diseases, there are some precautions to take.
Overdose: If you believe you have taken too much of this medication, contact a poison control center or an emergency room immediately.
PLEASE NOTE: This medication is solely for you. Do not give this medication to anybody else.
What if I miss a dose?
If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as possible. If your next dose is approaching, take only that dose. Do not take two or more doses.

This drug should not be combined with any of the following:
Cough medicines with narcotics
This medicine may also affect the following:
Alcohol
Antihistamines are used to treat allergies, coughs, and colds.
Certain anxiety or sleep drugs
Certain antidepressant drugs, such as amitriptyline, fluoxetine, and sertraline
Certain seizure drugs, such as phenobarbital and primidone
Halothane, isoflurane, methoxyflurane, and propofol are examples of general anesthetics.
Pain relievers that use narcotics
Other muscle-relaxing drugs
Chlorpromazine, mesoridazine, prochlorperazine, and thioridazine are examples of phenothiazines.
