Ephedrine may interact with some medical issues. You should talk to your doctor or pharmacist about any health issues you may be having, mainly if any of the following apply to you:
If you have ever had heart problems, diabetes, glaucoma, an enlarged prostate or other prostate problems, problems with the adrenal glands, high blood pressure, seizures, stroke, blood vessel problems, an overactive thyroid, or severe asthma, or if you are breastfeeding, pregnant, planning to become pregnant, taking any prescription or over-the-counter medications, herbal preparations, or dietary supplements,
Ephedrine may interact with certain medications. Inform your physician of all other medications you use, particularly any of the following:
Due to the possibility of side effects when combined with ephedrine from linezolid, beta-blockers (like propranolol), cocaine, indomethacin, methyldopa, MAO inhibitors (like phenelzine), oxytocic medications (like oxytocin), rauwolfia derivatives (like reserpine), tricyclic antidepressants (like amitriptyline), or ergot alkaloids (like dihydroergotamine),
Digoxin, bromocriptine, entacapone, or catechol-O-methyltransferase (COMT) inhibitors; methyldopa, guanadrel, guanethidine, mecamylamine, or reserpine; as ephedrine may decrease the efficacy of these medications.

Ephedrine HCL 30mg pills/tablets:
Adhere to the manufacturer’s instructions or your doctor’s prescription when using pseudoephedrine. Never use more, less, or any duration of time than is advised. Typically, cold medication is only taken temporarily, until your symptoms go away.
Giving pseudoephedrine to a child under the age of four is not advised. Before giving a child medicine for a cold or cough, always get a doctor’s approval. When extremely young children misuse cough and cold medications, it can result in death.
Have a full glass of water while taking this medication. Avoid chewing, crushing, or shattering an extended-release tablet. Eat it whole. Too much of the medication may be released at once if the tablet is broken or opened. Just before measuring a dose, you might need to give the oral suspension (liquid) a good shake. Instead of using an ordinary table spoon, measure the drink using a medication cup or specific dose measuring spoon. Ask your pharmacist for a dose-metering device if you don’t already have one.
Never take pseudoephedrine for more than seven consecutive days. Consult your physician if, despite treatment for seven days, your symptoms do not improve or if you experience a fever along with a headache, sore throat, or skin rash. Inform the surgeon in advance if you require surgery that you take pseudoephedrine. You might have to take a brief break from taking the medication.
