Description
Dormicum (Midazolam) 7.5mg
Dormicum (Midazolam) 7.5mg binds to stereospecific benzodiazepine receptors on postsynaptic GABA neurons in the CNS in various places, including the limbic system and the reticular formation. Increased neuronal membrane permeability to Cl ions results in hyperpolarisation (a less excitable state) and stability of the inhibitory impact of GABA on neuronal excitability. The GABA-A receptors appear to be connected to benzodiazepine receptors and effects.
Dormicum is a benzodiazepine central nervous system (CNS) depressant with a short half-life. Midazolam and its metabolites have sedative, anxiolytic, amnestic, muscle relaxant, and hypnotic characteristics, which are comparable to those of other benzodiazepine medications. The amino acid neurotransmitter gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) is inhibited by benzodiazepines. Many critical medications that influence GABA function and are commonly used in the treatment of anxiety disorders, epilepsy, insomnia, spasticity, and aggressive behavior target GABA receptors.

This medicine is given to children before a procedure or anesthesia to make them sleepy, reduce anxiety, and make them forget about the surgery or process. It should be used while the child is being treated by a medical practitioner. It is not intended for usage at home or on a long-term basis. Midazolam belongs to the benzodiazepine class of drugs, which have a calming effect on the brain and nerves (central nervous system). It is considered to function by boosting the action of a natural neurotransmitter in the brain (GABA).
