If your doctor prescribes extra doses, take them as quickly as possible; these are typically given 4-6 hours apart. Sleeplessness may result from taking this drug straight before bed.
If you take this medication in liquid form, use a spoon or other specialized measuring tool to measure the dosage precisely. It is best to avoid using a household spoon since it might not offer the correct dosage.
Your illness and response to treatment will determine the dosage. Your doctor might change your dosage until you feel most comfortable. Follow your doctor’s instructions strictly.

Occasionally, during treatment, your physician might suggest that you temporarily stop taking your medication so they can assess if your behavior has changed and whether the medication is still necessary.
Stopping this medication suddenly may result in withdrawal symptoms, including excessive tiredness, insomnia, and strange emotional and mental states like depression. To help you prevent withdrawal, your doctor might gradually lower your dosage. If you have taken large or regular doses of dextroamphetamine, you are more likely to have withdrawal symptoms. Notify your physician or pharmacist right away if you suffer any withdrawal symptoms.
This medication helps a lot of people, but it can also sometimes cause addiction. Your risk may go up if you have a substance use disorder, such as an alcohol or drug addiction. Take no medication for longer than is recommended or more often than is recommended. As directed, cease using the medication.
