Inform your doctor or pharmacist about all of your medical history before using this medication, with particular attention to any history of lung or breathing issues (like COPD or sleep apnea), liver or renal disease, glaucoma, or a personal or family history of a substance use disorder (like drug or alcohol addiction or overuse).
This medicine may cause drowsiness or dizziness. Both marijuana (cannabis) and alcohol can exacerbate your drowsiness or vertigo. Until you can do so safely, avoid operating machinery, driving, or doing anything else that requires alertness. Steer clear of booze. See your physician if you use cannabis, also known as marijuana.

If you experience any of the following symptoms after stopping alprazolam: odd muscular movements, increased activity or talkativeness, abrupt and severe mood or behavioral changes, confusion, hallucinations, seizures, suicidal thoughts or actions, or any combination of these, get medical attention right away.
After abruptly quitting this medication, some withdrawal symptoms could linger for up to a year or more. If you have persistent anxiety, despair, difficulty sleeping, ringing in your ears, a burning or prickly feeling, or a crawling sensation beneath your skin, let your doctor know.
